Nuit Blanche Taipei 2018

Nuit Blanche Taipei – October 6 – 7, 2018

Nuit Blanche Taipei is a cultural performance event which attracts 200,000 people annually who come to experience the visual art work and various cultural performances and activities.

From launching back in 2016, this year marks the third edition of Nuit Blanche Taipei, which will be held from 6:00 p.m. on October 6th to 6:00 a.m. on October 7thThe event will showcase the charms of Taipei at night, creating a new record for an open-air art event.

Date, Time & Duration

The Nuit Blanche Taipei 2018 is on a weekend, starting at at 6:00pm on Saturday the 6th of October. The event will run until the next day, at 6:00am on Sunday the 7th of October.

Admission fee

The admission is free to attend the event performances.

Location

This year marks the third edition of Nuit Blanche Taipei, which will be held from 6:00 p.m. on October 6 to 6:00 a.m. on October 7, along Zhongshan North Road between section one and three. The area around the Yuanshan MRT Station and the Nanjing West Road Commercial District will be the northern and southern sites of this event. There will be a gathering of at least 70 performances and programs, and also 43 art installations this year.

Taipei Naruwan Cultural Festival 2018

2018 Taipei Naruwan Cultural Festival – October 1 – 31, 2018

The Taipei Naruwan Cultural Festival will be held in collaboration with various indigenous groups from across northern Taiwan. It will bring together traditional rites, athletic competitions, and cultural and art exhibitions and performances.

The traditional sports competitions will involve archery, wood-sawing, and tug of war, as well as activities setup for kids.

Since it was first staged in 2010, the Taipei Naruwan Cultural Festival has become one of northern Taiwan’s most well-known festivals of indigenous culture. Over the past eight years, it has featured the cultures of the Rukai, Seediq, Puyuma, Amis, Atayal, Paiwan, Taroko, and Bunun tribes.

By letting indigenous peoples living in the city unite their tribal consciousness and conduct cultural exchange to help strengthen their identity, the festival has turned Taipei into a more diverse and friendly capital.

The Taipei Naruwan Cultural Festival will take place on October 1st until October 31st, 2018.

Directions

Take the red line to the Mingde MRT Station. Head northeast on Mingde Road, turn right on Lane 118. Walk up alongside the riverside until you get to the bridge that takes you across to the Langxing Park. Continue along the riverside on the opposite side until you reach Shidong Road on your right. After about 140 meters, turn left onto Section 2, Zhongcheng Road. The Tianmu Sports Park will be on your right.

Run the Marathon event is free to attend, however, all other events within the Taipei Arts Festival program list requires a purchased ticket for admission.

The 2018 Taipei Water Festival is scheduled from July 21st to August 25th.

Registration Time: 1700 – 1730.
Registration Venue: Wildlife Conservation Market Service Counter (the first tent on the left side of the main stage).
Method of Registration: On site with limited openings.
Competition Categories: Elementary School; Middle and High School; Adults.

Extended Hours during Summer Months
Taipei Zoo will remain open on Saturday evenings until 2100.
July: 7, 14, 21, and 28.
August: 4, 11, 18, and 25.

Admission fee

Night Tickets: NT$30.

Time Available: 1600 – 2000 (EasyCard accepted).

Admission Direction: Visitors will need to enter from the Main Gate Plaza after 1600 as the Taipei Zoo South Station of the Maokong Gondola will remain closed during night hours. Therefore, the onsite ticket booth will stop selling tickets at 1600.

Education Center and Zoo Train: Free from 1630 onwards.

Travel by MRT: MRT Wenshan-Neihu Line: Get off at Taipei Zoo Station.

MRT Nangang/Banqiao/Tucheng Line: Get off at Taipei City Hall Station, and then take bus route G1, BR18 or BR21 to Taipei Zoo.
