If you’ve read the article in the October COT you’ll know all about The Battle of Tamsui in 1884.

Now you have a chance to let John bring the story alive by visiting the key places in the battle such as the beach where the French troops landed, the swamp where the French troops finally gave up, a crater where a French shell hit and Mackay’s Clinic where wounded Qing soldiers were treated.

If you’ve read the article in the October COT you’ll know all about The Battle of Tamsui in 1884.

Now you have a chance to let John bring the story alive by visiting the key places in the battle such as the beach where the French troops landed, the swamp where the French troops finally gave up, a crater where a French shell hit and Mackay’s Clinic where wounded Qing soldiers were treated.

The tour will finish at about 6pm and you can then wander back to the MRT along the riverfront or join John for an optional Tamsui Battle-themed dinner at The Red Castle restaurant. The table will be booked for 6pm. After 10 courses you might just be ready to roll home!

Then join John and visit the key places where the battle took place, such as Shalun beach where the French troops landed, and Mackay’s clinic where the wounded soldiers were treated. The tour starts at Shalun Light Rail station and ends near Tamsui MRT.

However, you can also stay on to enjoy a 10-course battle-themed dinner with John at the Red Castle Restaurant if you want.
