Hi everyone we are the CAVA Community Taipei!!
We organize trips that are REALLY FUN, give back to the community and help the environment at the same time. Our mission as an organization is to preserve Taiwan’s wonderful natural places and care for our living, breathing planet. To do this we will hike Section 4 of Taipei Grand Trail, taking in some of Taipei’s most enchanting forest trails and spectacular views.

WHO – Anyone over 18 who likes the outdoors. (NO EQUIPMENT OR EXPERIENCE NECESSARY)

1. Explore the enchanting forest trails of Yangmingshan National Park
2. See the magnificent Bishanyan Kaizhang Shenwang Temple with awesome views over Taipei, more stunning views from Yuanjue Temple, and take a dip in Yuanjue Waterfall as we near the end of the trail
3. Enjoy making new friends
4. Help clean the environment
5. Eat a picnic with others
6. Test your stamina and have loads of fun

ITINERARY* –
(*Apart from the start time all other itinerary timings are approximate but we’ll try to finish by the end time)
8:00 Arrive at the meet point (somewhere near Jiantan MRT)
8:15 Get the local bus from the meet point to the trailhead at Feng Gui Zui. It’s about an hour on the bus so for convenience we will likely decide to share taxis to the trailhead instead (approx. 100 TWD each).
8:45-9:15 Start our hike at the trailhead
10:30 Stop for a break and refreshments
12:30Another pit stop for a picnic lunch
3:00 Reach Yuanjue Waterfall near the end of the trail
4:00 Arrive back at Dahu MRT & say goodbye to all your new friends!!
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This hike is longer in distance and estimated completion time so it does need some endurance, but it’s not too challenging in terms of the terrain
CONTRIBUTION – 130 TWD
INCLUDES – website costs, meetups group cost, registration, leader expenses, equipment storage, equipment repair, insurance
DOES NOT INCLUDE – Transportation to and from the meet location (or the trailhead)

TO BRING
1. Sensible shoes – No flip-flops (hiking boots or trainers)
2. Water – You will need 1-2 liters of water for drinking, though there is a top up dispenser at Bishan Temple
3. Food to eat along the way – there are no shops on this hike

CAVA Taipei is a non-profit community devoted to preserving our environment by getting more people to interact with and appreciate our beautiful planet. All our adventures are run collaboratively and it’s important that participants help each other and their group leader during the adventure.

STRICT – If you change your mind you can cancel within 24 hours but after this, it is not possible to process a refund.
