ParticipantLet’s make a hypothetical: You can apply for Permanent Residence in February 2022.
You have a solid amount of money saved. On November 1st 2021 you leave your job and apply for a six month ARC extension.
Can you still apply for a Taiwan Permanent Residence? Or is employment a necessary component?

ParticipantIt’s income or asset based for part of a tax year. Not employment based. It’s the same rule for citizenship and I used the asset based for that. Of course you can always go to the NIA and ask. They are very helpful.

ParticipantImmigration office have confirmed me that you can’t apply for the aprc while being on a 6 months extension.
Calling them is the best thing you can do.
