Finding Friends within the Community

Finding members to be friends with within the Taipei community is easy, in fact there are many ways to find friends within the community. You can search through the recently or currently active lists to see if there are any like-minded members that share similar interests with you. The most ideal way of finding friends is to find members that belong to groups which match your interests, and then introduce yourself to those members within those groups.

Adding Friends

Adding friends is simple. Go to the members profile and you should see the button stated ‘Add Friend‘ under their cover photo. For mobile device users, the ‘Add Friend‘ button can be found under their profile picture.

Once you have requested to ‘add friend’ that member, they will get a notification to accept your friendship. You would then be notified once they have approved it.

Events & Activities

The events and activities are located within the  Taipei Community main menu. This is where you can find all the community events and activities, setup by the Taipei community members.

Listed here are the events and activities that have been formed within the community for like-minded Taipei expats who get together regularly to enjoy their chosen activities and meet with people who share a common interests. These events and activities provide a great way to meet new people and expand your social circle within the Taipei community.

Creating an Event

To create an event, go to the Events & Activities page within the  Taipei Community main menu, or simply add an event from within your profile, in the event section. Creating an event requires you to fill out a simple form about the details of the event, such as the date and time, address, and even the option to add an image to represent your event.

There is now the added option to setup a registration for your event. Setting up a registration means members would have to sign up between a period you set, and each registration would have to be approved by you as the event administrator. Settings within the event registration offers options to sell tickets and it can even provide a limited amount of spaces. Setting a limit on spaces means that once reached, the event would be deemed full to capacity, meaning the event registrations would close. The same would happen when the date exceeds your set period for available registration.
